DROS
When I first learned of the term “DROS,” I thought it was the title of a new sci-fi movie, sort of like “TRON”. But California gun dealers know all too well what this acronym stands for: “Dealer Record of Sale”.
California is one of four states for which Federal gun laws and background checks are not good enough for gun purchases. The others are Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York.
Between the CA DOJ portal, the FSC card issuance, the Safe Handling Affidavit, and the fees to be collected, we non-California dealers do not envy what you have to go through to sell firearms to your customers.
